Depression can take many forms, and some of its manifestations can go unnoticed for a long time. Deep feelings of sadness during most of the day, lack of interest in pleasurable or daily activities for large amounts of time, significant and unintentional changes in weight, insomnia or excessive sleep, unusual restlessness or decline in physical activity, loss of energy and dizziness, feeling insecure, meaningless, feeling guilt, inability to concentrate or make decisions, and frequent, recurring thoughts of death are just some of the symptoms of depression.
During therapy, we first dedicate time to discovering how sadness or depression is expressed in your life, as well as what you want to achieve as a goal. Some clients just want to feel that life is worth living, while some want to reconnect with lost joy, and some want to become happier and healthier. So, first we will explore what it is that you want in your life instead of sadness and depression, and then we will deal with the roots from which these feelings originated.
