It can also happen that our body reacts with fear to situations or phenomena that others do not perceive as dangerous. But for the body there is no difference. For our bodies that danger is real. The body and our subconscious systems react by standing in a state of fight. When this state of readiness to fight lasts for a long time, a person can be constantly tired, exhausted, frustrated, and even develop some symptoms of illness.
Often, what appears as fear on the surface is not necessarily real fear. In the example of a client who was afraid of entering water, it turned out that at the root was actually the fear of pain and disease. This connection between water and pain arose in childhood, when she often suffered from ear infections after diving in the pool. Our rational minds sometimes cannot perceive this connection between our fear and the real cause. That is why we often use regression to discover causes that are unknown. The combination of hypnotherapy and regression therapy gives excellent results. It also allows a person to imagine going through future situations in which the fear is expected to recur, and to “test” whether the fear has been overcome.
The fears and phobias that can be treated with hypnotherapy (and regression therapy) are numerous, and it is impossible to list them all. Some of them are: fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of fire, fear of water, fear of open areas, fear of people, fear of animals, fear of public appearances, fear of the opposite sex, fear of the dark, fear of driving in the dark, fear of closed spaces, fear of loneliness, fear of touch, fear of childbirth, fear of disease/infections …
