Feelings of separation, loss, and grief often arise when we have to part with someone we love, depend or rely on. It might be that we are simply accustomed to that person, situation or condition. The feeling of loss can be extremely strong. Many people state that they feel like they lost a part of themselves or that some part of their life has disappeared. Emotions of loss or grief can also come up with significant life changes. These are just some of the situations in which they most often occur: separation from family, job loss or change, relocation, completion of a project (schooling, home renovation…), loss of mobility, loss of health, loss of a precious or significant object, rejection, etc…
In these situations, people experience insomnia, dizziness, appetite changes, tightness in the chest, throat or abdomen, panic attacks… Going through these feelings happens in several stages (coping / overcoming, understanding, immobility, acceptance, release – forgiveness). There are no rules to which of them you might find yourself stuck in, with the feeling that you cannot continue towards your ultimate goal – a sense of dismissal.
Therefore, it is in therapy that we allow your inner being to express where you are in this process, and we take some time to recognize what your needs are. We identify the obstructor(s) in your recovery. By using the power of the subconscious mind, the forces that previously obstructed you become engaged in the healing and recovery process.
