The habits that keep you from your desired (and healthy) weight can be different – you may eat when you are nervous or bored, you may have a tendency of being big (or small), you may be trying to alleviate some unpleasant experience… Many people eat when they feel the need for love or when they are scared. Others feel in those moments that they can’t eat a bite and therefore lose weight to unhealthy limits.
That is why in therapy we create new, healthy options for you through which you can get rid of old habits that have blocked you from achieving your goal. These old obstacles sometimes have nothing to do with your diet at first glance. Such is the example of a client who was not aware that he was eating because of the instilled idea from childhood that “as long as there is food, it means that we are rich.” Another example is of a woman who ate on a subconscious level in order to be as fat as possible and thus unattractive to men, all because of the way she protected herself as a child in order to avoid an abusive father.
